As you know that there is not “close” button in Android apps this doesn’t mean that they shut down or close when you return to home page or move to another app. All of your leaving apps like calendar, note pad, messaging, FM radio etc. are running in background data which darns your battery power. The default process of closing app is not simple.
You need to go to setting > Applications > (wait for list to load….) > Select app > Force Stop to completely close running apps.
